Summer and beach (and that beer and breeze) have been on my mind for a while now. The sun is blazing and this seems to be the perfect time to plan a seaside vacation with some surfing and beachfront volleyball around the shacks. But we know you want to look your beachy best when out on the sands. And the good news is that you can create this look all by yourself. Here’s our DIY beachwear guide to some cool, head-turning beach fashion.
Cover-Ups
Ever thought of creating a cover-up from an old men’s T-shirt? Use your boyfriend’s tee to style your beach look with a funky cover-up. Here’s how you can do it.

What you will need:
1) Oversized T-shirt
2) Scissors
3) Paper
4) Ruler
5) Pen/Pencil
How to do it:
• Draw a square of 8 inches by 8 inches on the paper.
• Cut the square and place it on the back of the T-shirt, bang in the center.
• Once you’ve placed the square, draw lines as shown in picture 4 and cut them.
• Voila! You’ve just created a trendy cover-up in all of 10 minutes.
Barefoot Sandals
Bored of wearing the same ol’ flats? Here’s a new accessory to give your foot a whole new look. Here’s how you can make it.

What you will need:
1) Tiny beads of a colour you like, approximately 60-80
2) Slightly bigger/fancier beads, approximately 10-15
3) Scissors
4) Sturdy thread
5) Needle
6) Jewellery clasp
How to do it:
• Hold the string near your foot, wrap it around the second toe, drag it to the top of your foot and then circle it around your ankle.
• Tie the needle to one end of the string and then insert the beads till your toe is completely covered with it.
• Once the toe gets covered with the beads, cut the needle and tie a knot so that the beads stay in place.
• Tie the needle at the end of both strings and put in the small and fancy beads alternately. On reaching the ankle, cut the needle and tie a knot.
• Now, you can bead the portions that go around your ankle. Decide the length to cover the portion of your ankle and then attach the jewellery clasp.
Beach Bag
Use your favourite scarf to create this simple beach bag, which can be easily washed and reused. Take that bright summer scarf out of your closet and follow our directions.

What you will need:
1) Any square-shaped scarf
How to do it:
• Place the scarf on the ground.
• Take any two opposite sides and tie a knot.
• Take the other two sides and tie a knot again.
• And it’s done!
