8 Terrific Beauty Uses Of Milk

| |

As a child you may remember your mother forcing you to finish a glass of milk because it was good for health. As we grew up, coffee and tea replaced the big milk glass, depriving us of nutrition. While nothing can replace drinking milk, you can benefit from its goodness by availing its many beauty uses. Take a look.

Beauty Uses of Milk

1. Face Cleanser
Whether you’ve run out of makeup remover or just want to get rid of the dirt and grime of the day, milk is your answer. Use it like your regular cleanser with cotton and get squeaky clean skin.

2. Moisturiser
Get the necessary moisture for your skin by using milk in place of a moisturiser. Apply raw milk on your face and leave it on for five to 10 minutes. Rinse with water for soft, fresh skin. If you have oily skin, use a smaller quantity of milk and rinse with a face wash.

3. Bleach
Use 2tbsp milk with 1tbsp lemon juice and mix it well. Apply immediately on your face and wash after five minutes. The goodness of milk and lemon will make your skin seem clearer in minutes.

4. De-tanning
De-tan after an amazing vacation with ingredients available at home. Use gram flour (besan) or fuller’s earth (multani mitti) with milk and apply on the tanned area. Use it for four to five days and see the results.

5. Removing Fine Lines
Take a break from expensive anti-ageing creams and try this. Mash half a banana with a few teaspoons of raw milk to make a paste. Rinse your face and apply on the damp skin. Wash in five minutes—you will see visibly reduced fine lines.

6. Soothe Damaged Skin
Sunburnt? Don’t worry; use a bit of cold milk on the affected area. It will soothe the burning sensation and heal the skin. You can even use freshly made buttermilk instead of the milk.

7. Face Mask
There are a number of face masks that can be prepared using milk. One of the most effective ones is the almond mask. Take a few almonds and soak them overnight in raw milk. Grind them in the morning and use on your face, along with some more milk. Let it remain for 10 to 15 minutes and let the skin soak up the goodness of the milk. After your rinse, you will have fresh, soft hydrated skin.

8. Conditioner
Milk works wonders for damaged hair, too. Apply on your hair and scalp like you apply oil and it will nourish it from both inside and out. However, apply in small quantities and wash in 10 minutes as milk can be sticky. Use a milk shampoo and stay away from conditioner for soft, bouncy hair.

Ask your mom for a glassful of milk today and get gorgeous skin and hair. Write to us if you have any more milk benefits to add to the list.
